How to tail my Football Bets [Even if you don't know anything about Football]

The first thing I need to clarify is that whenever I talk about Football, I am talking about the sport you may know as soccer.

You might never have watched a full Football match.

You might not know any of the players, teams, competitions or rules.

That does not prevent you from following my Football bets because you don't even need to watch the games! 

You do not need to analyse the match yourself. You do not need to understand formations, tactics or team news. You simply need to locate the correct match and copy the exact betting selection that I post in the Football Betting Group via Telegram.

In this guide, I will show you how to do that.

We will begin with the simplest Football bets and gradually work towards Asian Handicaps, which can initially look complicated but become much easier once you understand one fundamental principle.

Before Placing Any Bet

Whenever I post a Football bet, pay attention to the following information:

• The match
• The team or selection
• The betting market
• The handicap or goal line
• The odds
• The recommended stake
• The score and match time when the bet was posted

For example, a live betting tip might look like this:

Live Bet Alert
UEFA Champions League
Liverpool vs Real Madrid
Asian Handicap: Liverpool 0 [0-1]
Average Odds: 1.80

To follow that bet, you would:

1. Open the Football or Soccer section of your sportsbook.
2. Select the Live, In-Play or In-Game section.
3. Find Liverpool versus Real Madrid.
4. Open the Asian Handicap, Handicap or Spread market.
5. Confirm that the line, team and odds are correct.
6. Enter your stake and place the bet.

The most important rule is:

Copy the Exact Bet, Not the Closest-Looking Alternative

A small difference in the market or handicap can completely change the bet.

For example:

• Liverpool Asian Handicap 0 is not the same as Liverpool -0.5.
• Liverpool +0.5 is not the same as Liverpool +1.
• Liverpool to win is not the same as Liverpool to qualify.
• Over 2.5 goals is not the same as Over 3 goals.

If the market has moved and you cannot find the exact selection I posted, do not automatically place something similar. Ask in the Chat Room or wait for further instructions.

Now that we have covered the basic process, let’s look at the different types of Football bets I place.

1. To Win: The Three-Way Moneyline

This is one of the simplest Football bets.

You are betting on one team to win the match.

However, there is one important difference between Football and many American sports:

A Football Moneyline Usually Has Three Possible Outcomes

Those outcomes are:

1. The home team wins.
2. The match ends in a draw.
3. The away team wins.

This may be called:

• Match Result
• Full-Time Result
• Three-Way Moneyline
• 1X2
• To Win

American sportsbooks commonly offer Football moneylines with the draw included as a third possible result.

Example

I post:

Real Madrid to win

Real Madrid must be winning when the match finishes for the bet to win.

If the match ends in a draw, the bet loses.

If Real Madrid lose, the bet loses.

Normal Time Usually Means 90 Minutes

Unless the market specifically says otherwise, a Football match-result bet is normally settled at the end of:

• 90 minutes
• Plus referee-added stoppage time

It does not normally include extra time or a penalty shootout.

This is especially important during knockout tournaments.

Imagine Real Madrid are playing Barcelona in a cup match.

The score is 1–1 at the end of 90 minutes, but Real Madrid score during extra time and eventually win 2–1.

If you bet:

Real Madrid to win - three-way moneyline

Your bet would normally lose because the match was tied at the end of normal time.

If you wanted Real Madrid to win by any method, including extra time or penalties, you would need a To Qualify or To Advance bet instead.

2. To Qualify or To Advance

To Qualify bets are mainly used during knockout competitions.

Depending on your sportsbook and the stage of the tournament, the market may be called:

• To Qualify
• To Advance
• To Progress
• To Reach the Next Round
• To Lift the Trophy
• To Win the Trophy

The wording may differ, but the principle is the same:

You Are Betting on Which Team Ultimately Progresses

This normally includes:

• Normal time
• Extra time
• Penalty shootouts

Example

Real Madrid and Barcelona are playing a knockout match.

The score is 1–1 after 90 minutes. Real Madrid then win on penalties.

If you bet:

Real Madrid to win [three-way moneyline]

The bet would lose because the score was tied after 90 minutes.

If you bet:

Real Madrid to qualify

The bet would win because Real Madrid progressed to the next round.

Always check whether my betting tip says to win or to qualify, because they're very different bets.

3. Both Teams to Score

This market is often shortened to:

BTTS

You are betting on whether both teams will score at least one goal during the match.

The two options are normally:

• Both Teams to Score: Yes
• Both Teams to Score: No

Both Teams to Score: Yes

This bet wins if both teams score.

Winning scores would include:

• 1–1
• 2–1
• 1–3
• 2–2
• 4–1

The bet loses if either team fails to score.

Losing scores would include:

• 0–0
• 1–0
• 0–2
• 3–0

Example

I post:

Manchester United versus Chelsea - Both Teams to Score: Yes

You do not need to predict which team will win.

You only need Manchester United to score at least once and Chelsea to score at least once.

4. Over and Under Goals

An Over/Under bet is a wager on the total number of goals scored by both teams combined.

On an American sportsbook, this may simply be called:

• Total
• Total Goals
• Game Total
• Over/Under

Over 2.5 Goals

This bet wins if there are three or more goals.

Winning scores include:

• 2–1
• 3–0
• 2–2
• 4–1

It loses if there are two goals or fewer.

Losing scores include:

• 0–0
• 1–0
• 1–1
• 2–0

Under 2.5 Goals

This bet wins if there are two goals or fewer.

It loses if there are three or more.

The half-goal is used because a match cannot finish with half a goal. Therefore, there can be no refund or push on a 2.5-goal line.

5. Draw No Bet

Draw No Bet removes the draw as a losing outcome.

You are betting on one team to win, but if the match finishes in a draw, your original stake is refunded.

Some American sportsbooks may call this:

• Draw No Bet
• Tie No Bet
• Two-Way Moneyline

Sportsbooks describe Draw No Bet as a market where your selected team must win, while a draw results in the stake being refunded.

Example

I post:

Arsenal Draw No Bet

The possible outcomes are:

• Arsenal win: Your bet wins.
• The match ends in a draw: Your stake is refunded.
• Arsenal lose: Your bet loses.

This market reduces some of the risk associated with betting on a team because the draw no longer causes you to lose.

The trade-off is that the odds will usually be lower than the standard three-way moneyline price.

6. Double Chance

Double Chance allows you to cover two of the three possible match outcomes.

The available options are usually:

• Home team or draw
• Away team or draw
• Either team to win

Sportsbooks may display these selections as:

• 1X: Home team or draw
• X2: Away team or draw
• 12: Either team wins

Example

I post:

Real Madrid or Draw Double Chance

The bet wins if:

• Real Madrid win.
• The match ends in a draw.

The bet loses only if Real Madrid lose.

Double Chance is therefore another way of reducing the risk of a traditional moneyline bet, although the odds will usually be lower.

7. Asian Handicaps and Soccer Spreads

Asian Handicaps are the part of Football betting that most new members initially find confusing.

The good news is that they are based on a concept you probably already understand:

Asian Handicaps Are a Form of Point-Spread Betting Using Goals

Depending on your sportsbook, the market may be labelled:

• Asian Handicap
• Asian Spread
• Handicap
• Goal Handicap
• Goal Spread
• Two-Way Spread

The name is less important than making sure you are selecting the correct two-way market and the exact handicap line.

The Easiest Way to Follow My Asian Handicap Bets

The remainder of this guide explains how to follow my Asian Handicap bets when your regular sportsbook does not display them in exactly the same format that I use.

However, there is a much easier option.

Many sportsbooks already display Asian Handicaps in precisely the same way that I post them in the Football Betting Group. By using one of these platforms, you can simply locate the match, find the exact handicap I have posted and place the same bet, without needing to convert it into a traditional spread or work out which alternative market is equivalent.

Option One: bet365

When bet365 is available in your location, it is the simplest sportsbook I recommend for following my Football bets.

The Asian Handicap markets on bet365 are displayed in the same format that I use when posting my selections. This means that if I post:

Liverpool Asian Handicap +0.5

You can open the match on bet365, select the Asian Handicap market and look for:

Liverpool +0.5

There is no conversion required and no need to search for an equivalent market under a different name.

I have personally used bet365 for more than 20 years and have never experienced any significant problems with them. In my opinion, they offer one of the best and most user-friendly betting platforms in the world, particularly for Live Betting Football.

bet365 is available in many parts of the World such as Europe, Australia, Canada, the UK and currently operates in selected U.S. states. They also accept customers from many other countries. 

Option Two: AsianOdds88 Through AsianConnect

If you can't open an account with bet365, or you require higher betting limits, I recommend using a betting brokerage such as Asian Connect.

Asian Connect provides access to AsianOdds88, a platform that brings together odds and markets from multiple Asian sportsbooks through one account. The service is designed for more experienced and higher-volume bettors, with access to Asian Handicap markets, competitive odds and generally much higher betting limits than you may find at a conventional sportsbook.

I have personally used Asian Connect for more than 6 years.

One of the biggest advantages of using a brokerage is that it is built for customers who place larger bets and require access to deeper, higher-liquidity markets. This can make it a more scalable option than relying entirely on a traditional sportsbook, where individual account limits may eventually become restrictive or you may have your account closed when you become consistently profitable.

Finding My Bets on AsianOdds88

The screenshot below shows the AsianOdds88 betting interface.

Look for the column labelled:

HDP

“HDP” is short for Handicap. This is where you will find the Asian Handicap markets that correspond with the bets I post in the Football Betting Group.

For example, if I post:

Arsenal Asian Handicap 0

Find the correct match in AsianOdds88, locate the HDP column and select:

Arsenal 0

If I post:

Chelsea Asian Handicap +0.5

Locate the same match and select:

Chelsea +0.5

Once again, you are looking for the exact team and handicap number shown in my betting tip.

Setting Up an AsianConnect Account

You can apply for access to AsianOdds88 through AsianConnect.

Setting up a brokerage account is slightly different to opening an account with a conventional sportsbook because you first have to create an account on the brokerage and then create additional accounts for the betting websites that the brokerage offers account creation on. These include Pinnacle Sports, OrbitX and a wide range of betting sites from all across Asia.

The interface is also more functional than visually polished. It is designed primarily for serious bettors who care more about odds, market access and betting limits than modern graphics or promotional features.

There may therefore be a small learning curve when you first begin using it. However, for members who want access to competitive Asian Handicap prices and higher-limit betting markets, the benefits far outweigh the less polished interface.

Availability

Asian Connect may be blocked in your country, but they accept players from almost anywhere in the world. If their website is blocked, simply access it through a VPN. You can install a VPN on a web browser through a browser extension to use Asian Connect, whilst browsing the internet regularly on a separate browser. VPN browser extensions enable you to change your IP location just in that browser session. If you need more help setting this up, contact me via the Chat Room. 

The rest of this guide is designed for members whose sportsbook does not display Asian Handicaps in exactly the same format that I use when posting my bets in the Football Betting Group.

The good news is that many betting sites already list these markets exactly as I share them. If yours does, following my bets is extremely simple: find the correct match, locate the Asian Handicap market and select the exact team and handicap I have posted.

However, sportsbooks often use different names and formats for the same type of bet. The next section will explain how Asian Handicaps work and show you how to find the correct equivalent market when your betting site presents them differently.

Never Accidentally Use a Three-Way Handicap

A two-way handicap market has only two selections:

• Team A with a handicap
• Team B with a handicap

A three-way handicap includes a third handicap-draw or handicap-tie selection.

These markets are not settled in the same way.

I never bet 3 way handicaps. All my recommended bets are for the two-way Asian Handicap, Handicap or Spread market.

A useful rule is:

If you see a third “draw” or “tie” selection inside the handicap market, you are probably looking at the wrong market.

The Most Important Asian Handicap Rule

For the type of live Asian Handicap bet I post, imagine that a new game begins at the exact moment the bet is placed.

Treat the Score as a Fresh 0–0 From the Time of the Bet

Goals scored before the bet was placed do not count towards the settlement of the live Asian Handicap.

Official sportsbook rules describe live Asian Handicaps in the same way: goals scored before the wager is placed are ignored for settlement purposes.

Only the goals scored after the bet has been placed matter.

This is why my live Asian Handicap tips include the score at the time I post the bet.

Example

The actual match score is:

Manchester City 2–1 Liverpool

I post:

Liverpool Asian Handicap +1

For the purposes of our bet, imagine the score has now reset to:

Manchester City 0–1 Liverpool

Liverpool have been given one fictional goal.

Now we count only what happens after the bet is placed.

If neither team scores again, Liverpool win the fictional after-bet game 1–0, so our bet wins.

If Manchester City score once and Liverpool do not score, the fictional after-bet score becomes 1–1, so the bet is refunded.

If Manchester City score twice and Liverpool do not score, the fictional score becomes 2–1 to Manchester City, so the bet loses.

The actual final score may be 2–1, 3–1 or 4–1. What matters is the difference in goals scored after our wager was placed.

Asian Handicap 0

Asian Handicap 0 is one of the most common bets I place.

It may also be displayed as:

• AH 0
• Handicap 0
• Spread 0
• Pick’em
• PK

With Asian Handicap 0:

• Your bet wins if your selected team scores more goals than its opponent after the bet is placed.
• Your stake is refunded if both teams score the same number of goals after the bet is placed.
• Your bet loses if the opposing team scores more goals after the bet is placed.

Example

Arsenal are beating Chelsea 1–0 when I post:

Chelsea Asian Handicap 0

From the moment we place the bet, we treat the score as 0–0.

The match finishes Arsenal 1–0 Chelsea

Neither team scored after the bet was placed.

After-bet score: 0–0.

Result: Stake refunded.

The match finishes Arsenal 1–1 Chelsea

Chelsea scored one goal after the bet was placed and Arsenal scored none.

After-bet score: Chelsea 1–0 Arsenal.

Result: Bet wins.

The match finishes Arsenal 2–1 Chelsea

Both teams scored once after the bet was placed.

After-bet score: 1–1.

Result: Stake refunded.

The match finishes Arsenal 2–0 Chelsea

Arsenal scored once after the bet was placed and Chelsea scored none.

After-bet score: Arsenal 1–0 Chelsea.

Result: Bet loses.

Notice that Chelsea did not need to win the actual match for our bet to win.

They only needed to outperform Arsenal from the moment we placed the wager.

Positive Asian Handicaps

A positive Asian Handicap gives our selected team a fictional advantage.

Common positive lines include:

• +0.5
• +1
• +1.5
• +2
• +2.5

Remember that the handicap applies to the score from the moment the live bet was placed.

Asian Handicap +0.5

The selected team begins the after-bet game with half a fictional goal.

Because no team can score half a goal, there can be no draw or refund.

The bet wins if our selected team:

• Scores more goals than the opposition after the bet
• Scores the same number of goals as the opposition after the bet

The bet loses if our selected team is outscored after the wager is placed.

Example

Liverpool are losing 2–0 when I post:

Liverpool +0.5

If no more goals are scored, the after-bet score is:

Liverpool 0.5–0 Opposition

The bet wins.

If both teams score once after our bet, Liverpool still win the fictional after-bet game 1.5–1.

If the opposition scores once and Liverpool do not score, Liverpool lose the after-bet game 0.5–1.

The bet loses.

Asian Handicap +1

The selected team starts the after-bet game with one fictional goal.

The bet:

• Wins if our team scores the same number or more goals after the bet.
• Is refunded if our team is outscored by exactly one goal after the bet.
• Loses if our team is outscored by two or more goals after the bet.

Example

I post:

Barcelona +1

After the bet is placed:

• Both teams score once: Bet wins.
• Neither team scores: Bet wins.
• Barcelona score and the opposition do not: Bet wins.
• Opposition score once and Barcelona do not: Stake refunded.
• Opposition score twice and Barcelona do not: Bet loses.

Asian Handicap +1.5

The selected team begins with one and a half fictional goals.

The bet wins if our team:

• Outscores the opposition
• Scores the same number of goals
• Is outscored by exactly one goal

The bet loses only if our selected team is outscored by two or more goals after the wager is placed.

Negative Asian Handicaps

A negative Asian Handicap gives our selected team a fictional disadvantage.

Common negative lines include:

• -0.5
• -1
• -1.5
• -2

When we bet a negative handicap, our selected team usually needs to score more goals than its opponent after the bet is placed.

If the score remains unchanged, negative handicap bets will normally lose.

Asian Handicap -0.5

The selected team begins the after-bet game half a goal behind.

The team must score more goals than its opponent after the bet is placed.

The bet:

• Wins if our selected team outscores its opponent after the bet.
• Loses if both teams score the same number of goals.
• Loses if the opposition scores more goals.

Example

I post:

Manchester City -0.5

After the bet is placed:

• Manchester City score once and their opponent scores none: Bet wins.
• Neither team scores: Bet loses.
• Both teams score once: Bet loses.
• The opponent scores once and Manchester City do not: Bet loses.

Asian Handicap -1

The selected team starts the after-bet game one fictional goal behind.

The bet:

• Wins if our team outscores its opponent by two or more goals.
• Is refunded if our team outscores its opponent by exactly one goal.
• Loses if both teams score the same number of goals.
• Loses if the opposition outscores our team.

Example

I post:

Real Madrid -1

After the bet is placed:

• Real Madrid score twice and their opponent scores none: Bet wins.
• Real Madrid score once and their opponent scores none: Stake refunded.
• Both teams score once: Bet loses.
• Neither team scores: Bet loses.

Asian Handicap -1.5

The selected team begins the after-bet game one and a half goals behind.

To win the bet, our team must outscore the opposition by at least two goals after the bet is placed.

There can be no refund because the handicap contains half a goal.

Quarter Asian Handicaps

You may also see handicaps such as:

• +0.25
• -0.25
• +0.75
• -0.75
• +1.25
• -1.25

These are called quarter handicaps.

A quarter-handicap wager divides your stake equally between the two closest handicap lines.

For example:

+0.25

Half your stake is placed on Asian Handicap 0.

The other half is placed on Asian Handicap +0.5.

-0.25

Half your stake is placed on Asian Handicap 0.

The other half is placed on Asian Handicap -0.5.

+0.75

Half your stake is placed on +0.5.

The other half is placed on +1.

-0.75

Half your stake is placed on -0.5.

The other half is placed on -1.

This creates situations where you can:

• Win the full bet
• Win half and receive half your stake back
• Lose half and receive half your stake back
• Lose the full bet

Official sportsbook settlement examples describe quarter lines in this same split-stake manner.

Quick Asian Handicap Reference Chart

The table below is based only on goals scored after the bet is placed.

A Complete Live-Bet Example

Imagine the actual score is:

Inter Milan 0–2 Juventus
70 minutes played

I post:

Inter Milan Asian Handicap +0.5
Odds: 1.90
Stake: 1 unit

You place the bet at that moment.

We now ignore the two Juventus goals that were scored before the bet.

For settlement purposes, the after-bet score begins:

Inter Milan 0.5–0 Juventus

The match finishes 0–2

No more goals were scored.

Our fictional score remains Inter Milan 0.5–0 Juventus.

The bet wins.

The match finishes 1–3

Both teams scored once after the bet.

Our fictional score is Inter Milan 1.5–1 Juventus.

The bet wins.

The match finishes 0–3

Juventus scored once after the bet and Inter Milan did not score.

Our fictional score becomes Inter Milan 0.5–1 Juventus.

The bet loses.

This example demonstrates why the actual match score at the end does not tell you whether a live Asian Handicap bet won.

You must look at what happened from the moment the bet was placed.

What to Do If You Cannot Find the Bet

Sportsbooks frequently use different names for identical markets.

If you cannot find a bet:

1. Look inside the Live, In-Play or In-Game section.
2. Check for alternative names such as Spread, Handicap or Asian Spread.
3. Make sure you are looking at a two-way market.
4. Confirm that the team and handicap number are exact.
5. Ask in the Chat Room before placing anything different.

Do not feel embarrassed about asking.

Asian Handicaps are presented in a way that can make them look far more complicated than they really are. Once you understand that live Asian Handicap settlement begins from the moment the bet is placed, almost everything else becomes basic addition and subtraction.

You Do Not Need to Understand Football to Follow the Bets

You do not need to know which formation a team is playing.

You do not need to recognise the players.

You do not need to understand the league table.

You do not need to predict what will happen next.

YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TO WATCH THE GAME.

My job is to analyse the match, identify betting opportunities and continue to make money for us most months of the year.

Your job is simply to:

1. Place the bet.
2. Make money.

Once you have placed a few Football bets, the process will begin to feel much easier. You'll learn how everything works in no time.

Start slowly, double-check every selection and ask in the Chat Room whenever you are uncertain. It is always better to miss a bet than to place the wrong one and take a loss.
